Reduce your Carbon Footprint

There are a myriad of ways in which you can reduce your carbon footprint, or the amount of carbon dioxide that your lifestyle generates and puts into the atmosphere. The more that you can reduce this output of carbon dioxide, the healthier our Earth will become!

Electricity
* Turn off lights when not in use.
* Use energy efficient lighting.
* Unplug all devices that do not need to be plugged in or use a power strip that you turn off.

Home Heating and Cooling
* Insulate your home well. The better insulated your home is, the less fuel you use to heat it.
* Turn down the thermostat and wear warmer clothes instead.

* Take public transportation whenever possible.
* Get the best MPG car you can.
* Keep your car in good repair - regular oil changes, inflate the tires properly.
* Fly as little as possible.

Recycling
* Reuse items as much as you can.

* Buy recycled items.

Lifestyle
* Drink filtered water rather than bottled water.
* Eat local foods.
* Eat in season foods.
* Increase the number of vegetables in your diet.
